HDA’s analysis of services available for people with disabilities in Illinois was used to inform grantmaking by the Persons with Disabilities Fund at the Chicago Community Trust.
HDA launched Insight Illinois, a project that analyzed State of Illinois services and supports for people with disabilities related to housing, employment, community living, youth transition, and education. The project aimed to identify what was working and what could be working better and built a “road map” for improving services and supports that best met the needs of residents with disabilities.
The project was conducted in conjunction with former deputy commissioner of the Social Security Administration Susan Daniels & Associates, with demographic analysis by Chicago-based Rob Paral and Associates. Insight Illinois was funded by the Chicago Community Trust as a part of the Persons with Disabilities Fund.
